What precautions to follow when jump-starting your car?

  Your car’s battery usually has a long service time. However, after years of use, it can start to deteriorate and lead to a dead battery during the most unexpected and inconvenient situations. Moreover, frequently dead car batteries are a common problem with old/used cars. Therefore, as the saying goes, “Expect the best, prepare for the worst.” So, if you notice your car battery draining faster than usual and cannot hold a charge for longer, it is best to get yourself familiar with how to jump-start your car safely.    Here are a few precautions that you should follow when jump-starting your car: Make sure to always power off both vehicles before attempting the jump start.  Do not let the jumping cable touch the car, and make sure to connect them to correct (+) and (-) terminals to avoid any sparks.  If your car needs to be jump-started regularly, make sure to keep jumping cables with you and also ensure the jump starter is charged at all times.
